DESCRIPTION:
The Tencate Cratus CR2000SA is a mid tier, ultra thing, ultra light Ceramic and Polyethelene Special Threat Plate.
Coming in at just 4.5lbs for a 10x12 SAPI, 0.55" thick and multi hit rated for M193, M855, M855A1 and single shot for 7.62x39 API-BZ, this makes for an exscellent lightweight overt plate or a low visibility concealment plate.
 
All Tencate Ceramic plates are made up of a tile array system which is different than that of most traditional ceramic plates. Their tile array system allows for better multi hit capabilities and allows for damage to be localized to individual smaller tiles. 
 
The Tencate CR2000SA is a Ceramic Special Threat plate, which means its rating falls outside of the traditional NIJ's Level III or IV. 
The CR2000SA is a plate that was designed for concealment and low visibility use, which means protection from larger caliber rifles such as .308 M80 ball and 7.62x54R LPS was given up in exchange for its thin 0.55" thick profile.
The CR2000SA is rated to stop M193, M855, 7.62x39 MSC (Multi Hit), 7.62x39 API-BZ (Single Hit) and is unofficially rated for multiple hits of M855A1 at 3,100 Feet Per Second. 
Plates capable of stopping 7.62x39mm API-BZ (Armor Piercing Incindiary) are capable of also stopping M855A1 at 3,100 FPS.
